Human Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 (TGF-b1)
This is a cytokine involved in a wide variety of research areas. It is used to culture different types of stem cells; differentiate naive T cells into T regulatory cells, Th9 cells and Th17 cells; study pro and anti-inflammatory conditions.
Human Transforming Growth Factor-beta-1 ( hTGF-b1) is a member of the TGF-beta superfamily (TGF-b1-b5). Members of this family are known to exhibit regulatory activity in immunity and proliferation. It signals activity through Smad proteins via the TGF-b1 R1 & RII receptors. Mature hTGF-b1is a homodimeric protein consisting of 2 polypeptide chains of 112 amino acids each with a combined molecular weight of 25 kDa.
